  • Day by Day

    1. Split

Individual arrival in Split. Check-in on board starts between 2 and 2.30 pm at Split harbour. At about 4.30 pm, a guided city tour offers you the chance to see inside the former palace of Roman emperor Diocletian and to learn about the history of the city. The boat will stay docked in Split overnight, offering you an opportunity to experience Split’s nightlife.

    2. Split – Hvar Island (25 km)

Cruise to the island of Brač, famous for its radiant limestone that was, among others, used for the White House in Washington and in the construction of the German Reichstag building in Berlin. Once in Brač you will cycle from the picturesque harbour town of Pučišća, known internationally for its stone masonry college, across the island up to Bol. Close by lies the so called "Golden Horn", a popular Croatian beach famous for its unique shape. Keen swimmers can take a swim here before continuing on by boat to Jelsa on the island of Hvar.

    3. Hvar Island – Korčula Island (35 km)

Today’s cycling stretch will take you to Stari Grad and later on to the opposite side of the Island of Hvar. You will cycle through lavender fields and small villages till you reach the islands capital. Make the best of it by taking a stroll through the city of Hvar before boarding your barge. Standing on the magnificent Renaissance Square you can enjoy a view up to the Spanish fortress towering high above the city. Dinner on board and overnight stay in the sheltered bay of Vela Luka on the Island of Korčula, regarded as one of the most beautiful islands in Dalmatia.

    4. Korčula Island – Korčula town (60 km)

Today you will be exploring the charming island of Korčula all the way to Korčula city. A mild Mediterranean climate and a broad variety of different landscapes will entertain you. Take your time and remember to take a break to enjoy the view over the deep blue sea and neighbouring islands. The picturesque town of Korčula was apparently the birthplace of the famous Venetian explorer Marco Polo. Use the evening to wander through the fishbone alleyways and soak up the vibes of this stylish town.

    5. Korčula Island – Mljet Island (30 km)

And off we go! A morning crossing takes you to the beautiful Island of Lastovo, one of the smallest inhabited islands of the Adriatic Sea. The Emperor Augustus appreciated its mild climate, and in Roman times it was even named “Augusta Insula” after him. The population of just over 800 still lives mainly from fishing, agriculture and viticulture. Today’s cycle tour takes you around the beautiful island. The gold-coloured white wine “Marastina”, known even beyond Croatia’s borders, is grown here. You will enjoy a late lunch on board while cruising towards Pomena on the Island of Mljet.

    6. Mljet Island round tour (30 km)

From Pomena you will cycle across the green and lush island – known as the honey island. With 70% of its landmass covered by woodland, it is the most forested island in the Mediterranean region. Homer mentioned it in his epic poem “Odyssey”, where he made it a home for the Nymph Calypso and the legendary Greek king Odysseus, who could not resist her and therefore stayed on Mljet for seven years. The barge will wait for you in Sobra, from where you will cruise to the island of Šipan in the afternoon.

    7. Mljet Island – Dubrovnik (15 km)

The island of Šipan is the largest of the Elaphiti Islands, mirroring the Dalmatian coastline. Accompanied by your tour guide, you will cycle past villas with exotic gardens and through a fertile valley framed by a range of limestone hills. Once back to the barge, enjoy your last crossing after an adventurous week. After arrival in Dubrovnik there is plenty of time to explore the listed city and to take part on a guided city tour. A cheerful evening meal on board gives you time to celebrate the success of the week with fellow travelers and tour guides.

    8. Dubrovnik

Your tour ends after breakfast at around 9 am. Disembarkation and individual return home or extended stay in Croatia.

The itinerary may be subject to unexpected changes before and/or during your holiday, due to unforeseeable circumstances, such as: extreme weather conditions, unannounced road or repair works or law enforcements.

  • Route profile

This cycle tours require a basic level of fitness from participants, which they should have acquired from steady cycling. The tours will take you up to a height of 200 to 500 m above sea-level. The daytours up to 28 mi./45 km will take you through hilly and mountainous terrain and will be completed without any time-constraints.

Participants will also need to master long and steep climbs, during which they are, however, also permitted to push their bicycles. You will traverse mostly asphalted roads, which are rarely traveled on outside the holiday seasons.

You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or spend on board the barge, instead of taking a planned cycle tour.

Each day you can either decide to cycle alone, using the information and maps provided, or join one of our tour guides or other participants.
