Day by Day
1° Trogir – Šolta Island
Individual arrival by car to Trogir or by plane to Split airport, which is about 3mi./ 5 km away from the harbor of Trogir. After check in on the motor yacht between 2 and 2:30 pm the first cruise starts about 3 pm from Trogir to Brac Island. Overnight stay in the sedate harbour of Milna.
2° Brac Island – Hvar Island (20/22 km)
We begin ur first cycling tour on the island of Šolta. Walled fields, numerous olive groves, locust bean and fig trees line the roads. The herbal scent of lavender and rosemary accompanies us along our tour across the island. After cycling around the island we return to our ship in Stomorska and cross over to the lovely natural harbour of Stari Grad. Our afternoon cycling tour on the Island of Hvar leads us through the quaint harbours of Jelsa and Vrboska. Afterwards we return to Stari Grad, which has become a Mecca for artists and art lovers in the past few years.
3° Hvar Island – Korčula Island (25 km)
Today’s tour leads us along the almost traffic free pass road through nicely set small villages to the islands capital, Hvar, where we visit the magnificent Renaissance Square and enjoy the view from the Spanish Fortress, situated high above the city. After today’s tour the boat takes us to the Island of Korčula. Overnight stay in Vela Luka.
4° Island Korčula (60 km)
Today we will explore the island of Korčula by bicycle and enjoy our lunch break in one of the local restaurants. The calmness and remoteness of the vast vegetation and cypress gardens have given the shape to the probably most beautiful Dalmatian island. Our cycle tour leads us via the village of Blato, like Rome build on seven hills, along a pass road across Pupnat bay and finally to Korčula town, where we have time to take a walk through the wonderful old town with its narrow “fishbone like” alleys. We stay overnight in Korčula town.
5° Island Korčula – Island Brač (35 km)
We cruise to the island of Brač, which is famous for its shining white marble which was also used for the White House and the Reichstag in Berlin. After a lunch break we start our bicycle tour from Sumartin to the lovely fishing village Povlja or to the picturesque town Pučišća. Overnight stay in Pučišća.
6° Island Brač – Split (30/45 km)
After a morning crossing to Omiš we cycle through the valley of the Cetina River which is surrounded by steep rocks. After 11 mi./18 km we have the choice to take part on a four hours rafting tour on the Cetina River (not included in the tour price) and afterwards a small cycle tour of about 4 mi./7 km back to the boat - or to expand the cycling tour (no rafting) to 27 mi./44 km along small side roads and versatile landscapes until reaching Omiš and its pirate castles. In the afternoon our ship takes us to Split. The old town of Split, built adjoining the famous palace of the Roman Caesar Diocletian, is a world heritage site. Overnight stay in Split.
7° Split – Trogir (15 km)
In the morning we prepare for our last bike ride to Mount Marjan. A popular recreational site for the residents of Split, which offers fantastic views of the city and the surrounding islands. Afterwards we board the ship and enjoy the last crossing to Trogir past the cliffs of the Čiovo peninsula. There is still plenty of time to visit the Old Town of Trogir, listed as a World Cultural Heritage site. The last evening aboard our ship is celebrated in traditional fashion. While enjoying the communal dinner in a celebrative atmosphere we will have the chance for a last get-together with our crew and tour guides.
The tour and services end after breakfast around 9 am and you can continue your individual trip home or extended stay in Croatia
The itinerary of the Melody and Princeza Diana:
1° Trogir – Hvar Island
2° Islands of Hvar and Vis
3° Island Vis (aprx. 20 mi./32 km)
4° Island Korč ula (aprx. 37.5 mi./60 km)
5° Island Brač (aprx. 17 mi./27 km)
6° Omiš - Split (aprx. 16 or 27 mi./25 or 44 km)
7° Island Šolta (aprx. 12.5 mi./20 km)
The itinerary may be subject to unexpected changes before and/or during your holiday due to unforseable circimstances such as: extreme weather conditions, unannounced road or repair works or law enforcements.
The cycle tours require a basic level of fitness from participants, which they should have acquired from steady cycling. The tours will take us up to a height of 200 to 650 m above sea-level.
The daytours from 12 mi. to 31 mi. (20 to 50 km) will take us through hilly and mountainous terrain and will be completed without any time-constraints. Participants will also need to master long and steep climbs, during which they are, however, also permitted to push their bicycles.
We traverse mostly asphalted roads, which are rarely traveled on outside the holiday seasons. You are free to set aside a half or full day to swim or spend on board the boat, instead of taking a planned cycle tour. Each day you can either decide to cycle alone, using the information and maps provided, or join one of our tour guides or other participants.
How to get there
Your boat will be waiting for you in the port of Trogir. Some days before departure we will send you all details about the embarkation.
The closest airport is Split. Contact us for a free airfare quotation.
To reach the boat at Trogir harbor we recommend to take a taxi (destination: harbor of Trogir, approx. 6 km/20 euro). You can use a public bus (no. 37) as well, which takes you within 15 min to Trogir town and stops in Trogir opposite the market. It leaves at the bus stop on the main road in front of the airport every 20 - 30 min.
The old town of Trogir with the harbour area is very close.
Split has its own train station. From here you can take a taxi to the point of embarkation (cost: about 20 €) or a bus. More information: www.autotrans.hr
Car and parking
If you are planning to reach Trogir by car travelling through Slovenia, we remind you that you need to purchase the vignette in order to drive on the Slovenian motorways. It costs about 15 € for a week and 30 € for a month.
We can book a safe parking place for you in Trogir, in a private area which is close to the port (cost: 50 € to be paid on site, on a first come first served basis). Anyway, there are no insurances against theft or damages to the car. You can ask your guide where your parking place is.
