    3. Beaugency/St. Dyé – Blois (50/30 km)
From the huge park surrounding Chambord Castle today’s trip continues at the border of the forest of Boulogne. 2019, The Year of Leonardo

If Florence is the Cradle of the Italian Renaissance, the Loire is the movement’s Berceau on French soil.
Amboise rightly spearheads Leonardo initiatives in France: this is where the Master settled in his old age and where he is buried. The Castle of Clos Lucé shines for a programme which includes, besides a major exhibition, evening events focusing on life and the arts in the Renaissance.

The majestic Castle of Chambord follows suit, illustrating how Leonardo inspired its architecture.
