2. Tirano - Grosio - Tirano (30 km)
Along the cycle path Sentiero Valtellina you go up along the river Adda as far as Grosio, an ancient medieval village dominated by two castles but inhabited since prehistoric times, as evidenced by the Parco delle Incisioni Rupestri. After visiting the park and the Romanesque church of San Giorgio you pedal back to Tirano.
3. Tirano - St. Moritz (25 km)
Leaving Tirano by train you travel across the beautiful Swiss alpine scenery as far as the Bernina Pass from where the downhill stretch to Pontresina and then St. Moritz begins. St. Moritz is the best known tourist resort of the Engadine, famous for its hot springs and stunning ski slopes.
4. St. Moritz - Chiavenna (50 km)
Along the plateau of the Upper Engadine surrounded by mountains and forests you come across the lakes of Silvaplana, Champfèr and Sils. Once at the Maloja Pass, not far from the source of the river Inn, you go down to Val Bregaglia and continue cycling until you enter the Italian territory where the Cycle Route of Val Chiavenna begins. After the view of the imposing Acquafraggia waterfalls, celebrated by Leonardo da Vinci, you arrive in Chiavenna .
5. Chiavenna - Colico (35 km)
The course of the river Mera takes you from Chiavenna to Lake Mezzola. Then you continue southwards along the Pian di Spagna Nature Reserve until you come across the river Adda, which a little further flows into the Lake Como. Once in Colico, on the slopes of the Alps Orobie (Bergamo Alps), you can relax on the lakefront beach or you can reach the nearby town of Piona to visit its famous Cistercian abbey.
6. Colico - Sondrio (50 km)
Along the bike path of the Sentiero Valtellina you reach Morbegno, known for the typical Bitto cheese. You continue always on the valley floor in the most famous wine area of Valtellina as far as the Sanctuary of the Madonna of Sassella, on the threshold of the town of Sondrio, the regional capital of the Valtellina.
7. Sondrio - Tirano (30 km)
You continue on the path Sentiero Valtellina, along the river Adda, alongside the famous terraced vineyards of the Rhaetian slope, through little villages until you finally reach Tirano for one last visit to the historic centre and the Renaissance Basilica with its impressive organ and the chapel of the Apparition.

Departure 21-28 September 2019
Online from 06 October 2019
A wonderful variety of scenery from the cold windy summit of Bernina Pass to the decadent relaxation in Colico.
There really were only very short times when we were on a busy road.
The church in Tirano is magnificent, truly for us the most impressive we have seen in Europe. Others are bigger, but the one in Tirano was inspiring. -

E' un percorso contrassegnato da diversi sali-scendi. Attraversando luoghi in alta quota, è possibile trovare la pioggia. -

Departure 2017
Online from 07 August 2017
We went on the tour 24/6 - 1/7/17.
It was a fantastic holiday - one of the best and I' ve been doing biking tours since 1989 - Vietnam - California - Europe. The bikes were very, very good - better than our own bikes. It was a beautiful scenic route - very good idea with Bernina Express - and it was sunshine that day! The hotels were very good and for once in all these years, we were so lucky to have rooms with view to the sea or the mountains The logistic was perfect all the way through. Excellent.
We have also been biking on Sardina with you, but through a danish company and it was excellent too.
Thank you so much for a great holiday!
Afterwards we stayed two nights in Bellagio and went to Ghisallo and the museum - on e-bikes lovely! The plan was also to go on e-bike from Cadenabdia to Laglio - George Clooney invited for coffee - but it was sunshine and Sunday, so it wasn't lovely at all with lots of traffic and especially motorcyclists - but as long they stay in Italy its ok.
Lots of biking greetings -
Elena

I panorami sono molto belli e le tappe ben distribuite. L'unico neo è rappresentato da un tratto obbligatorio da percorrere lungo una statale a causa di lavori in corso lungo la ciclabile, nella tappa da Sondrio a Tirano. -
